I’m not going to lie, this week has been a busy week. Me not posting at all this week is a pretty good indication of how busy I’ve been. This week worked (both at my full-time job and for my dad), saw The Dandy Warhols with a colleague, went to a Mexican themed 21st birthday party, watched a few movies and caught up on some TV shows. Here are my thoughts on this week’s events:
I also went shopping and bought a new pair of Melissa shoes. I think this is my seventh pair?

I believe that I will be going on a brief blogging hiatus until I can get all of the work that I currently on my plate done. Ciao!

This week has been full of work, moving offices (well levels/floors in the same office building) and parties.
It was my friend Tristan’s birthday. He got a new Harinezumi 2+++ camera (courtesy of Tristan’s lovely girlfriend Michelle) and decided to go nuts with it.
Me being cool and blue.

Shoes!

Here is an animated GIF of my Friday night antics.

Then on Saturday I went to Nel’s birthday. She just got a new camera for her birthday too! It was really neat because you could enable a little screen on the front for portraits/self portraits. Everyone seems to be getting new cameras… I think I need to get a new one too.
In the photo below it is clear that (left to right) me, Nel and Marilyne are totally laughing at you.

Nel being super creepy with one of the presents I gave her.

On Sunday I went for a picnic/barbeque with my family at Wivenhoe Dam.

This week has been a nice and relaxing week. I can’t wait to see what next week will bring!

The weather has been a little gloomy lately but I love that it is finally starting to cool down. This installment of Style Inklings reflects the current weather. As I personally don’t own any rainboots, I find that my Docs are almost perfect for wet weather. I say almost because they are not really suitable for ridiculously heavy rain (particularly when you are without an umbrella) and gigantic puddles.

This sketch is for all you shoe lovers out there. I was sitting around wearing a pair of platform stilettos (see below) and thought about how a simple piece of footwear can either accentuate or change a person’s demeanour. I then thought of the words ‘shoe fetish’. These words were inspired by the notion that shoes can be highly sensual. They can inspire confidence whilst inflicting pain, creating a twisted combination of sensuality, dominance and masochism.

I had lunch date with an old friend on Friday and somehow we both managed to come out of it with new black Melissa shoes. I always seem to be on this eternal search for comfortable black flats, and lo and behold, I found these Vivienne Westwood + Melissa shoes.
I have long been a fan of Melissa Shoes. Really, what is there not to love? Their flats and heels alike are extremely comfortable to wear, they are made of eco friendly materials, they are easy to clean and they smell like bubblegum.
On my new shoes, Vivienne Westwood’s signiture orb is featured all over it (even on the outsole). The pattern and textures allow these shoes to look both edgy and other worldly. I think that I might truly be in love with them.

Building on my recent obsession with yellow, I decided to show you some of my Style Inklings in the form of a collage. I know that teaming yellow and black can be a little risky (especially if you want to avoid looking like a bumble bee) but there’s just something about the stark contrast that makes it so visually appealing.
